My interest in speaking, teaching, and research began in fifth grade when I found myself enjoying writing and presenting book reports. Weird? Yeah, my friends thought so too, but they still let me play football with them, so it all worked out.
Later, I channeled these passions into research as a MacArthur and then a Mellon fellow while studying and lecturing at Indiana University. Studies were followed by sojourns in France, Spain, and Mexico and then a gig for an alternative newspaper and articles for publications such as Intercom and National Geographic Traveler.
Journalism became technical writing and then a career as a user experience (UX) consultant. I am currently a speaker, teacher, writer, and UX consultant with 20 years of industry experience working with clients such as Citi, Roche, Promega, Ernst & Young, Rockwell International, TDS, CUNA Mutual Group, and American Family Insurance.
